Terms of Use

The Service is pavoot.events, the Pavoot Events app for iOS, and the emails we send about them. It lets you find events, register for them, back ideas for events that are not scheduled yet, offer to host, sponsor, speak or photograph, save searches and get alerts.

If you run events on the Pavoot platform as a customer, your order form and our General Terms and Conditions apply to that use instead.

• You sign in with your email and a one time code. Keep access to that inbox safe: whoever controls it controls the account.
• Give accurate details. Hosts decide who gets in, partly on what you tell them.
• You must be at least 16 to use the Service. Some events have a higher age limit set by the host or by law.
• One person per account. Do not register on behalf of someone else unless they asked you to.
• You can delete your account at any time by writing to us.

Many events on the Service are organized by hosts, not by us. For those, we provide the technology, and we are not responsible or liable for:

• cancellations, changes or postponements by the host;
• the content of the event or anything that happens there;
• the accuracy of event details the host provides, including time, place, price and access instructions;
• whether the host accepts your registration.

Questions or disputes about such an event go to the host. Hosts control their events and must tell you about any terms, house rules or refund policy of their own. Where Pavoot itself organizes an event, we say so on its page, and we are the host for it.

An idea is an event that may happen if enough people want it. Saying you are in, or offering to host, sponsor, speak or photograph, tells us and the organizers that you are interested.

• Interest is not a ticket and does not guarantee a seat, a slot or that the event takes place.
• Sponsor amounts and photographer prices you enter are non binding. Nothing is owed until both sides sign a separate agreement or you pay at checkout.
• You can withdraw your interest at any time from the page or from My rooms.
• We may change, merge, schedule or drop an idea, and decide who is invited, at our discretion.

Paid tickets are processed by Stripe. By paying you also accept Stripe's terms. We never see or store your full card number.

The price, currency, taxes and refund rules are those shown on the event page by the host. Refunds are the host's decision unless the law says otherwise. If an event is cancelled, contact the host first; if you cannot reach them, write to us and we will help where we can.

Some events are run on other platforms, such as Luma or Partiful. We show a preview so you can find them here, but you sign up on that site, under its terms and privacy policy. We do not control those events or sites and are not responsible for them, for their content, or for any loss from using them.

The Service lets you post, upload, link and share material, such as your profile, photo, a pitch for an idea, messages to organizers and answers to registration questions (“Content”). You are solely responsible for your Content and must have the rights to share it. You may share opinions as permitted by applicable law.

Unless we agree otherwise in writing, you grant us and the hosts of the events you engage with a worldwide, non exclusive, royalty free license to use, adapt, translate, publish and display your Content in connection with the Service and those events, in any form or media. You keep ownership of it. For your profile and answers this license ends when you delete them, except for copies a host already received for an event.

You must not:

• use the Service in an unlawful, fraudulent or harassing way;
• impersonate anyone or register people without their consent;
• scrape, harvest or bulk collect data, or access the Service by any means other than our public website, app and supported interfaces;
• probe, overload or try to break our systems or security;
• post spam, malware, or content that infringes someone else's rights;
• resell tickets or seats unless the host allows it.

If you give us details about other people, for example a co host, speaker or guest you suggest, you must have their permission to share them and to let us contact them. Breaking this rule can lead to suspension of your account.

Personalized search uses AI to rank events and explain why each one fits. Suggestions can be wrong or incomplete. They are a starting point, not advice, and you decide what to join. Check the event page before you rely on any detail.

Events may be photographed or filmed by the host or a photographer. If you choose to let us find you in event photos, we match your profile photo against them so you get your pictures. That is opt in, and you can switch it off at any time in your profile. See the Privacy Policy.

The Service contains links to sites and services we do not own or control, including event platforms, maps and video players. We are not responsible for their content, privacy policies or practices, or for any damage or loss caused by using them or relying on them.

Where the Service plays YouTube videos, you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.

All material on the Service, including the PAVOOT name and logo, text, images, software and the look and feel of pavoot.events and the app (“Site Content”), is protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. You may not copy, republish, distribute, sell or otherwise use Site Content without our written permission, except as part of normal use of the Service. You may not download images as standalone files or use Site Content in a way likely to confuse people about who is behind it. Event names, photos and descriptions belong to their hosts.

We respect the rights of others. If you believe something on the Service infringes your copyright, email hello@pavoot.com with:

• a description of the copyrighted work;
• the URL where the material appears;
• your full name, postal address, phone number and email;
• a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized;
• your physical or electronic signature;
• a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.

We remove infringing material and close the accounts of people who infringe repeatedly. If your material was removed and you think that was a mistake, you may send us a counter notice with the same details.

We welcome ideas and suggestions about the Service. Feedback you send is not confidential, and you assign it to us without compensation, so we may use it for any purpose. Where it cannot be assigned, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty free license to use it. This does not cover event ideas you pitch through the Service, which are Content.

You use the Service at your own risk. It is provided “as is” and “as available”. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, title, quiet enjoyment, fitness for a particular purpose and non infringement. No advice or information you get from us creates a warranty not stated here.

We do not warrant that the Service will meet your needs, or be accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, secure, or free of errors, viruses or harmful components. We are not responsible for loss or damage caused by information or ideas on the Service, or for damage to your devices or data from using it. We do not promise the Service is appropriate or available everywhere. If you use it from outside the United States, you are responsible for following local laws.

To the fullest extent the law allows, neither we nor our affiliates, officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents or representatives are liable, in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages, or for lost revenue, lost data or other intangible losses, arising from the Service or any event, even if foreseeable or if we were told they were possible.

Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us to use the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100.

Nothing here limits liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct or fraud, or any liability the law does not allow us to limit. Some places do not allow these exclusions, so they may not all apply to you, and consumers keep the mandatory rights of their country of residence.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless us, our affiliates and their officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents and representatives from any claims, damages, costs and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your misuse of the Service, your Content, or your breach of these Terms.

The Service is operated from the United States and may be subject to US export controls and sanctions. You may not use, download or export it (a) in or for a country under a US or UN embargo, (b) if you are on the US Treasury list of Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons, (c) if you are on the US Commerce Denied Persons List or Entity List, or (d) if you are subject to similar restrictions. By using the Service you confirm none of these applies to you.

We may suspend or end your access at any time, with or without notice, if you break these Terms, if a host or the law requires it, or to protect the Service or other people. You may stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time.

Sections that by their nature should survive, such as ownership, disclaimers, indemnity and limits of liability, survive termination.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. All proceedings arising from these Terms or the Service must be brought in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, and you submit to their exclusive jurisdiction. Any claim must be filed within one year after it arose, or it is barred. If you are a consumer in the EU, the UK or Switzerland, you may also bring a claim in the courts of your home country, and nothing here removes protections your local law gives you.

If a provision is found invalid, the rest stays in force. Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver. Some features may come with additional terms, shown before you use them. We may transfer these Terms or the Service, for example in a merger or sale. You may not transfer your rights under them. Headings are for convenience only.

We may update these Terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is material, we tell you by email or in the Service before it takes effect. Using the Service after that means you accept the new Terms.
